Welcome to the Skoblenick Lab website.
Our research is focused on addressing gaps in emergency mental health care, particularly in the management of acute suicidality and methamphetamine-induced psychosis. We aim to develop new tools and pharmaceutical interventions that improve patient outcomes in the emergency department.
Dr. Skoblenick is an emergency physician and clinician-scientist in Edmonton, Alberta. He completed his MSc at McMaster University, studying dopaminergic signaling and transcriptional regulation in schizophrenia. His PhD at Western University focused on prefrontal cortex dysfunction in the ketamine model of psychosis, using single-neuron electrophysiology in non-human primates.
